Hello everyone, my name is Andrew Bryant. I’m a software engineer and creative coder. I’ve used Processing for years, and I’m excited to be hosting an event in the DC area this October! I’ve given creative coding talks and demos at workshops before, but never organized one myself, so any help would be appreciated. What if cities across the globe collaborated with each other during PCD?
Earlier this month PCD @ NYC '26 had it’s first volunteer open call meeting, and we had the pleasure of having an organizer from PCD @ Portland join us! @amy-bw imagined having a “portal” of sorts connecting cities together. This might only work for cities that happen to host on the same day and have overlapping hours. Perhaps it’s too complex logistically? But I found the idea interesting and fun.
PCD @ NYC will be held on Saturday October 3rd. If your city is hosting on the same day, reach out to us! Let’s get creative together.

I was just having a chat with @book.of.iris and @clairekwong from PCD @ NYC and the topic of peer support came up.
So… hear me out 
Would you be interested in connecting with organizers from other PCD events to exchange ideas and support one another?
If so, please reply below to let us know what topics you’d like to discuss, and any questions or challenges you’d like help with.
If there’s enough interest, we’ll schedule a call in the coming weeks. (We can start with one session and see if people would like to make it a more regular thing.)
We’re also looking for one or two volunteers to help facilitate the conversation or take notes during the call. Is that you? Let me know.

We’d love to see what other organizers are planning to get some inspiration. We’d like to see if it’s more about gatherings, sharing sessions, workshops, or exhibitions. We’d also like to see thoughts towards “classic” coding and vibe coding; I’ve already seen some on the forums.
Yeah. It would be fantastic to hear what other organizers are cooking up.
Agree with @avantcontra that it would be great to chat about how LLM’s may shape event programming…

Hope I’m doing this the right way! I’m thinking of hosting a workshop at my local library in Brattleboro, VT with one other organizer, following one of the tutorials on the processing website, and maybe creating a way for local people to share what they make at the workshop or after with each other. I’m organizing it with my friend Robert Parks who is a curriculum creator for MIT app inventor (as well as a maker, educator, writer, and many other things). He does a lot of cool work on collecting data as a group of people, so another direction I could see it going is making a piece together using processing along with data about our town that people go out and measure.

Hi! I’m Natalie Freed, a postdoc at Texas State University in San Marcos (about halfway between Austin and San Antonio). I helped organize a PCD in 2019 in Austin which was a lot of fun. I’m now working with the Families Learning Together project https://fltsmtx.org/. We have a location - our community makerspace based out of the Centro Cultural Hispano - and are planning to host some free family-friendly creative coding activities and perhaps some talks and demos for PCD in October. Hello everyone! 
My name is Pedram, though I usually go by my artistic alias, Pitheorem.
I am a digital artist and creative developer from Iran. I lead the Art & Technology Group (ATG Iran), where we organize events and educational programs around creative coding and new media arts. I also co-founded Otaaared, a platform for computer arts training.

For the upcoming event in October, we would be happy to organize a meetup in Tehran - probably in Iran Computer Museum (ICM) which has been our great partner for our previous events.
In fact, even before hearing about the upcoming PCD event, we had already been in discussion with ICM about launching weekly jam/lab sessions for creative coders. These sessions are currently being planned to begin mid-summer. So it’s fair to say that by October, the local community will already have a solid foundation and momentum.
We hope everything proceeds as planned over the coming months.
