PCD @ Worldwide 2026 - Call for Organizers

Hi everyone,

I’m Jusub Kim from the Creative Computing Group (https://creative-computing.org). We are planning to host Processing Community Day (PCD) @ Seoul 2026!

Our 1-day event will explore “Creative Coding in the Age of Vibe Coding,” featuring:

  • Talks & Workshops

  • Exhibition & Performances

  • Networking Sessions

Venue: Dept. of Art & Technology, Sogang University, Seoul.

We are currently in the planning stage and will share more details.

Hola, hello  I’m Virginia, uxui engineer, vj and creative coder based in Uruguay. I’ve participated as an artist in the PCD a few years ago and now I’m stepping up as an organizer for PCD Montevideo

We’re passionate about bridging the gap between art and code through a diverse, inclusive lens. Our event will explore hands-on talks, live shows and p2p sessions. I’m super excited to bring the community together and host the 25th birthday of Processing right here in our city :uruguay:

Hi everyone!

Today I wanted to share a bit of inspiration for you all as PCD organizers :sunflower:

One thing many past organizers have done is write a short recap after their event and post it online. It’s a nice way to document the moment and give others ideas for their own events.

If you’ve been wondering what a PCD can look like, this (very incomplete) list should give you some ideas:

If you end up organizing a PCD, please consider sharing a recap as well. It helps build a shared memory across all the nodes, and it’s often nice to look back on what you created together. And if you have a favorite recap that you don’t see in the list, please post it below!

Other quick updates of the day:
  • Welcome to PCD @ Seoul and PCD @ Montevideo :blue_heart:

  • PCD @ Tokyo is now on the map! Thanks @prod.ka.

  • Special thanks to @micuat for fixing the Japanese localization (PR #44) If you want to help but are not sure where to start, improving translations or contributing new ones can be a great way to contribute. The files are found here: pcd-website/src/i18n/locales. Let me know if you need help.

  • I fixed a funny bug where the UID for the event could occasionally be interpreted as a number in scientific notation

Cheers!
Raphaël

Hey, my name is Becca Rose, and I’m coordinating a PCD in Hastings, UK.

I was part of a PCD in 2019 which included a family day called “you make the rules” and an evening algorave. Absolutely loved organising it and making friends in the process. Looking forward to starting something here on the south coast.

Looking to collaborate with others so will start a thread :thread:

I also wanted to share some info about the PCD we organised in 2019 :palm_up_hand:

I wrote about it afterwards: PCD Bristol 2019 – Becca Rose

We made a github site to keep all the info in one place: PCD Bristol

And @crispysmokedweb also wrote something: Processing Community Day Bristol - Crispy Smoked Web

Hey Becca, thanks for sharing. That event in 2019 was really the gateway to creative technology for me. Meeting you and many others was so formative for me. It’s a template for accessible community tech/art that I still carry with me.

Hello, I’m Amy B. Woodman and I’m organizing the Portland PCD!

I don’t have a space or an agenda yet, just a dream to bring together anyone in PDX who’s interested in creative coding. Would anyone like to join me in planning this event? Let’s start chatting here.

Hi everyone!

Today I wanted to share this beautiful throwback video about the 2019 PCD in Los Angeles.

In researching it, I also stumbled upon this interview by @xinemata with Yuehao Jiang who designed the visual identity for the event. Well worth a read.

Other quick updates of the day:

Hi I’m Iris!

I’m a creative coach and programmer, interested in helping organize PCD in New York City. I’m part of the Recurse Center and will be joining the ITP community at NYU/Tisch through their Interactive Media Arts Low Residency program.

I’m in dialogue with a few folks engaged in diverse creative coding communities around the city to collaborate for PCD.

Before submitting the form, I wanted to see if any folks with direct experience organizing PCD (previously in New York or elsewhere) were willing to connect with me to share their wisdom.

Hi Iris, welcome!

Great to hear you’re thinking about organizing something in New York.

You could reach out to @lee, who helped organize PCD in NYC in 2019, or take a look at this recap he wrote:

How we organized Processing Community Day NYC 2019

We also had some former organizers share tips in the info sessions:

If you have any specific questions, I’m happy to help.

Raphaël

Thanks so much. @lee also reached out. (Deeply appreciated!) I’ll update the NYC thread as I move forward with the other organizers. The resources you’ve put together are very very helpful.

Hi Raphaël! Great to see this happening.

I’m Yufeng Zhao, a master’s student in the Future Sketches group at MIT Media Lab in Cambridge, MA. Our group works at the intersection of art, code, and design, led by Zach Lieberman.

We’re planning to host PCD @ Boston/Cambridge at the Media Lab! The idea is to feature talks from Media Lab members sharing their encounters with creative coding, invited speakers from the creative coding community, and an open projector session. Still finalizing the date (likely late October), but excited to get this going.

Looking forward to connecting with other organizers!

Welcome @yufengz!

I’m so happy to hear PCD will be coming back to the MIT Media Lab, where the first PCD was held in 2017.

This feels especially meaningful as we celebrate 25 years of Processing, which also started at the Media Lab :blue_heart:

Excited to see it take shape!
