Hi everyone!
Today I wanted to share a bit of inspiration for you all as PCD organizers ![]()
One thing many past organizers have done is write a short recap after their event and post it online. It’s a nice way to document the moment and give others ideas for their own events.
If you’ve been wondering what a PCD can look like, this (very incomplete) list should give you some ideas:
- “Processing Community Day Santiago de Chile 2019 Recap”
- “Processing Community Day Tokyo” by Naoto Hieda
- “PCD2021” by Tim Rodenbröker and * “Celebrating 20 Years of Processing with Arte Codificada” by Zimaldo Melo for examples of what an online PCD can look like.
- “Processing Community Day Shanghai 2019 Recap” by Qianqian Ye, the first PCD in China!
- “After Processing Community Day”: A recap of the first PCD at MIT in 2017, by Taeyoon Choi
- “How we organized Processing Community Day NYC 2019”: Behind the scenes of 2019 PCD in in New York by Lee Tusman
If you end up organizing a PCD, please consider sharing a recap as well. It helps build a shared memory across all the nodes, and it’s often nice to look back on what you created together. And if you have a favorite recap that you don’t see in the list, please post it below!

PCD @ Tokyois now on the map! Thanks @prod.ka. -
Special thanks to @micuat for fixing the Japanese localization (PR #44) If you want to help but are not sure where to start, improving translations or contributing new ones can be a great way to contribute. The files are found here:
pcd-website/src/i18n/locales. Let me know if you need help. -
I fixed a funny bug where the UID for the event could occasionally be interpreted as a number in scientific notation

Cheers!
