Text bar not lining up with text

Hello

As I begin typing, the text bar does not line up with what I am typing. Please take a look at the attached image. After the first few letters the bar becomes further away from the last character I have typed. Does anyone have any ideas why this is or how to fix it.

Text indicator not in the right place

This issue has nothing to do with code, it has to do with the text editor. I use Processing 4.0b1 64 bits on a windows 10 laptop… The program works fine except for the text indicator (the one that blinks and tells you where the next character you press on the keyboard will show up at) acting all wonky and not being placed where it should, which makes text editing confusing and time consuming… In order to explain this problem I will refer to the indicator in 2 forms: where I see it on screen …

Thank you for the response and directing to helpful info! It gives me a good starting point, I was pretty confused about how to attack this. As you can imagine, writing code with an indicator like this is super frustrating.
