Dear Processing Support Team,
My name is Mamatha, and I am deeply interested in contributing to your organization as part of Google Summer of Code (GSoC) 2025. I admire the impactful work of your organization, and I am eager to be a part of it.
I would greatly appreciate your guidance on how to prepare effectively for GSoC 2025, particularly regarding:
What is the main stack used by the processing organization projects. How I can begin contributing to your organization’s projects before the application process starts.
2.If available discord channel or slack channel for processing will you provide. The best way to contact and collaborate directly with project maintainers for feedback and assistance.
Any specific skills or knowledge areas I should focus on to align better with your projects.
Currently, I have experience in SQL, JavaScript, Python, open-source contributions ,Git &GitHub and have worked on python and SQL realtime projects. However, I am eager to learn and improve further to match the needs of your organization.
Please let me know if there are beginner-friendly tasks or resources I can explore to get started. I am enthusiastic about contributing meaningfully and learning from the experience.
Thank you for taking the time to read my email. I look forward to your response and any guidance you can offer.
Hi Mamatha and everyone in the Processing community,
I’m shaik mahammad jani, and like you, Mamatha, I’m thrilled about the opportunity to contribute to open-source projects through GSoC 2025. Your enthusiasm for the Processing organization is inspiring, and I’m happy to join this conversation to introduce myself and learn alongside other contributors.
A little about me:
I’m currently pursuing my B.Tech in Computer Science, and I have a strong foundation in Data Structures and Algorithms using Java.
My technical skills include experience with the MERN stack (MongoDB, Express.js, React, Node.js), Python, and SQL. I’ve worked on several projects, including implementing RESTful APIs and building web applications.
I’ve also been involved in open-source contributions, and I’m familiar with Git and GitHub for collaboration.
I’m particularly interested in projects that involve full-stack development, and I’m eager to contribute in a meaningful way while sharpening my skills.
Like Mamatha, I’d also love to know more about beginner-friendly tasks within the Processing organization and any specific resources or tools that could help me get started. I look forward to collaborating with the community, learning from experienced contributors, and contributing to impactful projects.
Thank you for creating such a welcoming space for us aspiring contributors. Excited to dive in and make a positive impact!
We are applying again this year as a mentoring organization. The list of accepted orgs will be published on February 27th (see the GSoC 2025 timeline).
In the meantime, you can check our GSoC 2025 Project Ideas List (required skills are listed there) and find more information about GSoC at the Processing Foundation here.
