Processing 3.5 not detecting Pixel 3 XL

Hi,
I am trying to connect Android phone to processing and it does not seem to show up on Processing when I look at : Android > Devices menu.

My Pixel3XL settings:
Connected via USB to my MacBook Pro
USB preferences: Controlled by = This Device / Use USB for: No Data Transfer
BUT
I have tried all other options too:
File Transfer
PTP
MIDI
USB Tethering

Do you know which particular setting should be selected for Processing to detect my phone?

I had a simular problem.
My device driver was installed, and I could exchange files with windows explorer. Searching for details I found that the MTP driver was not installed. I reinstalled all drivers of the motherboard as well, but never have been able to use Processing for Android on my W7 PC. That’s why I’m using APDE.
