Do you have an interest in combining travel with freelance teaching and academic opportunities? OF Course Shanghai is collaborating with the Chinese Academy of Art and Hamburg University of Fine Arts to host a series of creative coding workshops in Shanghai beginning in late fall 2018. Tentative dates are set for October 29 - December 30.
For this opportunity, we are recruiting an instructor for an offline Audio-Video Systems workshop. We encourage your application if your teaching experience and portfolio overlap with this interdisciplinary field. Suggested skills include Processing，OF，Phycial computing with Arduino, projection mapping, proficiency with sensors like Kinect, etc. We offer round trip flight , accommodation , and a stipend for teaching. In addition, on non-teaching days you are free to pursue your own projects or travel. We also offer the opportunity for a weekend workshop hosted with OF Course in Shanghai in late November/December.
OF Course (ofcourse.io) was founded in NYC in 2014 and has operated online and offline workshops, seminars, meetups, and coding competitions in Shanghai, Beijing, Shenzhen and other locations in China for three years. We have also developed a range of online creative coding immersive courses in Processing, MaxMSP, physical computing, Machine Learning for Interactive Design and other fields with friends from across Europe and the US.
The Audio-Visual workshop you will teach will feature 3 days of class per week, each day roughly 8:30-4:00 (with a lunch break included). We can provide a sample syllabus but expect applicants to be able to create a full syllabus oriented around the creation of a final portfolio quality project which allows students to apply the theories and practical experience they learn in the classroom.
