High cpu while typing

Not a question about code of any kind, however on the latest version of processing, using the built in ide, cpu usage will spike whilst writing.

I suspect it might have something to do with the size of my program, however its enough to be somewhat of a nuissance, reaching up to 75% cpu usage for the one window alone.

one a standard sketch with one window cpu usage also climbs whilst typing up to as much as 50%.

Anyone know whats going on?

Not sure, but a guess: have you looked at what Preferences you have enabled? I’m thinking of things like “continuous check for errors” and “code completion”. That would narrow down the process. If you have a 10+ tab sketch and it is rerunning live checks every time you press a key, that could be part of it.
