Creative Coding Camp UK

I am organising a Creative Coding Camp with the online collective CURSOR from 26-28 May on Blacklands Girlguiding Farm, Sussex, UK. The theme is “Off the Grid” with participants split into group researching and exploring the topics data privacy, nature and technology, and digital minimalism. We are currently open for applications from people who want to attend, and recruiting two roles!

You can find more information about the full camp and how to apply here. It will be a weekend with workshops (online prior as well as in-person during), and completely free for UK residents between 20 and 35 years. We encourage a wide range of backgrounds to apply, and especially aim this at those who may be marginalised in traditional tech spaces. Whether you’re an artist, biologist, academic, coder, hacker, or something completely else - do apply!

Paid opportunities
We are looking for our last workshop host! We would like an in-person, 60-minute workshop on p5.js and creative code as an introduction to coding on Saturday 27 May. Travel is paid and there is a symbolic fee/pay attached. For any questions or interest, please email anna@cursormag.net. If you are interested, please do mention if you have previously hosted workshops ( we are very open for you to recycle past workshop content).

Lastly, we are looking for an extra hand during the weekend to support with IT and coding queries. At minimum you must be available the 27th May - ideally for the full weekend (it will be fun!). We are looking for someone who is skilled in HTML, CSS, and JS (bonus with specifically creative coding projects) and who is interested in community-oriented projects and fostering a welcoming and inclusive learning environment. This position is paid for a flat fee (£240) and suited to someone who is a student or early in their career.

This is a great initiative really, I like such camps that erases the code illiteracy.
