[Found this](https://stackoverflow.com/questions/17938261/opengl-error-while-using-processing). Are you using Eclipse or another IDE besides the Processing IDE?

Yes. I use Atom mostly for Ruby and Javascript development.

Oh but - I’m not using Atom when I’m coding in Processing. I’m using the IDE.

It looks like an error that’s coming from the opengl library Processing is built on. What operating system are you using?

So chances are Processing can’t find the [jogl](http://jogamp.org/jogl/www/) library. I honestly don’t know enough to give you any useful instructions. My guess would be that either it can’t find the right jar or the jar it did find doesn’t work on ubuntu. From what I can tell there are a couple included versions of jogl for linux.
 ![jars](https://canada1.discourse-cdn.com/flex036/uploads/processingfoundation1/original/2X/8/8ab0a19208cf0dfc77ae2e3e0977bf6f0293dc6e.png)
Hopefully someone else can be more helpful. Best of luck.

I think I’ve had that for years. Maybe we could make a t-shirt with that message, to be constructive 🙂
