# Why should the preview images in the libraries directory be grayscale?

I always wondered why the preview images for libraries in the [libraries directory](https://p5js.org/libraries/) should be grayscale and I didn’t find a discussion about this.

What were the foundations thoughts behind this decision?

Just a wonderment 🙂

I would imagine it is to keep a consistent look for the page
