A huge quick question – is the entropy array named “H” by mathematical convention?
I’m tempted to post a slight revision of your annotated code, and give all the variables semantic names – e.g. W --> wave, A --> adjacencies, H --> entropy, etc. – to make the code more readable for students and potential adaptors. The extreme concision is very elegant, but it might be a barrier to comprehension for coders without a background in this kind of math.
