# Server error when downloading the Processing IDE

Please, l have been trying to download the processing IDE but i can’t. All the time they will say server error, and i have try it with different devices but the same problem

Hi @Dapilaa thanks for trying the direct link shared above. We’re actually linking directly to GitHub from the website, so it _shouldn’t_ make a difference, but you never know.

I just tested the download from my side and it seems to be working, so it’s possible the issue is specific to your network or internet provider.

Are you able to download large files in general? The latest version (Processing 4.4.4) is about 365 MB.

As a test, you could also try downloading an **older and smaller version** of Processing (127 MB):  
[https://github.com/processing/processing/releases/download/processing-0270-3.5.4/processing-3.5.4-windows64.zip](https://github.com/processing/processing/releases/download/processing-0270-3.5.4/processing-3.5.4-windows64.zip)

Let us know if that works. It might help narrow down whether the issue is file size, network restrictions, or something else.

For me the download always stopped around 265MB. I’ll try the smaller old version as well and report back.

Are you able to download large files from other sources? If everything else fails, we could try to host the file on Google Drive for you and send you a direct link.

Just retried on Mac and it downloads fine now. Don’t know why it didn’t before ?
