Hi everyone I am Nabeera from Karachi, Pakistan a creative technologist, researcher and software engineer! I am the founder of Code Circles, where we organize creative coding workshops to explore programming for intention, community and fun. We have already curated workshops introducing folks to openprocessing and html/css/js programming.

I am interested in hosting a PCD in Karachi which has a budding community of programmers and artists. Exact format and logistics need to be finalised

Hihi I’m Sarah Ciston, friend of p5js projects, co-host of a past PCD LA at USC, and interested to host a PCD in Cologne (Köln), Germany, at my new art university lab space. Also I’m quite late to the party this year. @sableraph I’m wondering if it would be too late to host a PCD Köln in mid-November, given our academic calendar?

Hey @sarahciston 😊 We recommend October so it’s easier to coordinate communications, but if that’s not an option for you, you can pick a different time. No worries!

Hello PCD organizers,

The official PCD submission period has now closed, and we have a whopping **50 cities** registered on [day.processing.org](http://day.processing.org)!

Congratulations to all of you 🥳

![cities4](https://canada1.discourse-cdn.com/flex036/uploads/processingfoundation1/original/3X/6/7/677fd577917d79351215c20ea6ba2ad727dd993a.gif)

If you didn’t get to submit before the deadline, don’t worry. You can still submit an event at any time. It may just take a little longer for me to review it, and I won’t be able to merge updates as consistently. I review all submissions and event updates to the [`processing-community-day`](https://github.com/processing/processing-community-day) repository by hand, and each one takes about 5 to 10 minutes. Doesn’t sound like much, but it adds up. From now, I’ll probably review and merge new submissions about once a week or every two weeks, as my workload allows. I appreciate your patience.

See you at PCD!
Raphaël

Quick heads-up: there’s currently a GitHub bug affecting pre-populated issue forms. If you click “Edit this event data” and try to change any field, GitHub immediately restores the previous value as you type instead of keeping your edit.

I’ve reported the issue to GitHub Support.

In the meantime, if you need to update your event, you can either

A) Submit the form leaving the existing data in place, THEN edit the issue you just submitted.

B) Edit your event’s files directly and open a Pull Request instead:

1. Go to [https://github.com/processing/processing-community-day/tree/main/pcd-website/src/content/events](https://github.com/processing/processing-community-day/tree/main/pcd-website/src/content/events)

2. Open your `pcd-mycity-2026/` folder.

3. Edit `metadata.json` and/or `content.md`.

4. Submit a Pull Request.

I’m sorry for the inconvenience. I’ll post an update as soon as I hear back from GitHub.

Hi @book.of.iris!

I’ll respond here to your DM so everyone can benefit 😃

That was the map for [PCD 2019](https://umap.openstreetmap.fr/en/map/processing-community-day-worldwide-2019_254734#2/) which was on openstreetmaps.

The data for this year’s edition is available at [https://day.processing.org/data.json](https://day.processing.org/data.json)

Shared it there precisely so that people can use it and visualize it any way they like.

I’m excited to see what you make with it!

Here are two examples of how to load and use it in p5.js:

Hello PCD team,

PCD is taking place for the first time in Nepal, and it will be a small event of around 20-30 people. We have secured the venue, and we have decided to provide some light snacks (it’s good for networking).

I had a question about promotion, our event is already on [day.processing.org](http://day.processing.org) [PCD @ Kathmandu, Nepal 2026](https://discourse.processing.org/t/pcd-kathmandu-nepal-2026/48872) . Does processing foundation also help promote the event on Instagram or LinkedIn?

Hi @aashishpanthi,

This looks great! We’re happy to help cross-promote your event. When sharing your PCD event on Instagram, a newsletter, on Eventbrite, or elsewhere, please mention that it is part of Processing Community Day and link to [day.processing.org](https://day.processing.org/).

Some ways you can mention us:

- Instagram: tag [@processingorg](https://instagram.com/processingorg) in your event post
- Website or newsletter: include a link to [day.processing.org](https://day.processing.org/) alongside your event details

When mentioning the Processing Foundation, please include the following wording:

> Processing Community Day is a global initiative of the Processing Foundation.

and

> PCD @ Kathmandu is organized independently by Coding for Social Good Nepal and is not affiliated with the Processing Foundation.

If you have any questions or suggestions regarding promotion, you can reply here or email me at [camille@processingfoundation.org](mailto:camille@processingfoundation.org). We look forward to sharing your PCD!

Hello PCD organizers!

If you haven’t already, please **remember to update your event information** on [day.processing.org](http://day.processing.org) and fill in your event’s date, venue, and description.

I know October may still feel far away but time flies, and confirming these details now will help you plan and coordinate better. We are also preparing public communications for PCD, and having this information will make it easier for us to promote your event.

_Quick update on the editing bug mentioned above: I received a reply from GitHub Support, but the issue is still happening. @aashishpanthi found a [clever workaround](https://discourse.processing.org/t/pcd-kathmandu-nepal-2026/48872/8), so you can use that approach for now._

If you need help, please **reply below** or reach out at [day@processingfoundation.org](mailto:day@processingfoundation.org).

Cheers,
Raphaël

Hola!

Hi!

My name is Enrique García-Alcalá and I live in Querétaro, México. This is the second time I’ve organized a PCD event, the first time was about 8 years ago and I did it in Mexico City at the place I worked (Centro de Cultura Digital). Now I work at Tecnológico de Monterrey as a digital art professor and I’m organizing the event for Querétaro. We’ll have a couple of talks, workshops, and a small project showcase. I haven’t updated the details yet because I’m waiting for confirmation on a public venue to make it more accessible to people outside the university where I work —,if that doesn’t work out, my second plan would be to use the university space.

Keep you posted!

Hello fellow organizers,

I hope the preparation is going well. I just concluded PCD @Kathmandu yesterday. Since this was the first PCD in Nepal, we didn’t have a lot of participants. But a good number of high school students and undergrads showed up. We had a creative coding jam; participants used p5.js to make different arts, and we concluded PCD with networking over pizza.

Hello everyone @here!

Just a few weeks left until October! How’s your PCD coming along?

I’ve just wrapped up work on a much improved PCD Organizer Kit. It’s live here:

> **[Introduction — Processing Community Day](https://day.processing.org/organize/)**
>
> Everything you need to organize a Processing Community Day in your city, from the simplest possible event to a full day of workshops and talks.

The kit now also includes our **[Zine Library](https://day.processing.org/organize/zines/zine-library/)**, with activity guides that you can use at your event.

 ![image](https://canada1.discourse-cdn.com/flex036/uploads/processingfoundation1/original/3X/a/9/a93c376d0c72c08fa13e963411a7e185f86adaad.jpeg)

I made the first one as an example of what this format can look like, but the library is meant to grow through contributions from the community. So if you have an activity you’d like to turn into a zine, please consider [submitting one](https://day.processing.org/organize/zines/zine-library/)!

You’ll find tips here: [How to Make a Zine — Processing Community Day](https://day.processing.org/organize/zines/how-to-make-a-zine/)

Hi PCD organizers @here,

Another day, another PCD website update 😃

We now have an **[Events List](https://day.processing.org/events/)** page!

It makes it easier to browse upcoming PCDs by date or using the search bar.

> Important: **If your event date is still missing or listed as TBA, make sure to update your event details.** so it appears in the Upcoming tab.

I’ve also added a small overview of recently active PCD forum threads in the sidebar, so the page can hopefully give a bit more visibility to the conversations happening here.

I hope you’ll enjoy it!

And if you find any bugs, feel free to [open an issue](https://github.com/processing/processing-community-day/issues/new/choose).

Cheers,
Raphaël

Hi PCD organizers!

Are you getting excited about PCD month already?

I just deployed a big update to [https://day.processing.org/](https://day.processing.org/) I hope you’ll enjoy the improvements!

The new pin icons, filters, and labels make it easier to find events with a confirmed date, location, and time. A good reminder to update your event info if you haven’t already 😄

There’s even a small easter egg if you know where to look 👀

Cheers!
