Hi everyone 🙂

I learned augmented reality with Processing, using NyARToolkit by nyatla (Ryo Iizuka). That library got me started more than 15 years ago. It hasn’t been updated for current Processing versions, so I wanted to bring it back to life with p5.js, so anyone can make web AR in the browser.

Today I’m releasing nyar4p5js:

What it does

- Hiro and Kanji markers are built in, and you can turn any image into a marker directly in your sketch.
- Uses the phone’s back camera, or your laptop’s webcam.
- Works in the p5.js Web Editor: upload one .js file and press Play. No installs.
- Works with p5.js 1.x and 2.x.

This is my tribute to nyatla’s work and to this community, where I first learned to code AR. I’d love to see what you build with it, and feedback or issues on GitHub are very welcome.

Thanks!
Emilio (EMILIUSVGS)

BTW, I created a video tutorial [https://youtu.be/373RJQ-1e64](https://youtu.be/373RJQ-1e64) (english captions)
