Would something like this be useful in your project? It will allow you to send code from your pc directly to the Arduino:

> [@Arduino Command Line](https://discourse.processing.org/t/arduino-command-line/47395):
>
> The following source code demonstrates arduino-cli which is a command line tool for compiling and uploading an arduino sketch to an arduino usb device. To get started you will need to download arduino-cli to your system if you don’t already have it. On Mac/Linux platforms one option is to install it with Homebrew; on Windows you will need to manually download it. Make certain that you know the path of where it was installed. References to help with installation and getting started are here: …

The steps at the processing side would be

1. Open a file; see [selectFolder() / Reference / Processing.org](https://processing.org/reference/selectFolder_.html) and [selectInput() / Reference / Processing.org](https://processing.org/reference/selectInput_.html).
2. Open a serial port; see [Serial / Libraries / Processing.org](https://processing.org/reference/libraries/serial/Serial.html).
3. Read the file line-by-line; see e.g. [BufferedReader / Reference / Processing.org](https://processing.org/reference/BufferedReader.html). Send byte-by-byte or in chunks over the serial port.
  - Repeat till the full file is transferred.

4. Close the serial port.
5. Close the file.

At the Arduino side you read the serial data, process it and let your Arduino do it’s job based on the processed data.

It’s advisable to create a form of communication protocol. You can e.g. send a single byte from processing, let the Arduino echo it (send it back) and let processing verify that it received the same byte as what was send to the Arduino.

The only thing I further know is that G-code is line based; how it’s handled in your Arduino I don’t know.
