# Is "StringBuffer" deprecated?

Hi everyone,
I was watching [this](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f6ra024-ASY) video about L-Systems and Daniel used “StringBuffer” in his code, but I can’t find anything about “StringBuffer” in Processing reference.
Is this data type deprecated?

I think you can use it in processing but it is Java

It’s pretty much deprecated in Java though - you almost always want StringBuilder instead.
