# How to make a program windowless/frameless?

The frame background _can_ have transparency, at least for the `JAVA2D` / “default” renderer in Processing. Here’s a post the question of which shows code for doing so:

I had myself used this technique many months ago, and it works nicely! I don’t know if the code in the aforementioned post still works as expected, but feel free to ask me for my old code if it doesn’t.
