# How to launch the operating system’s default browser at a given URL?

with Windows for the majority but also with Linux for the minority of whom I am part

For reference, inside of Processing we use [`Platform.openURL`](https://github.com/processing/processing4/blob/198f593971e42458a35e0c6664920e6709ba04bf/app/src/processing/app/platform/DefaultPlatform.java#L237-L241)

I came across this Processing helper method:

Example of usage:

```auto
link("https://processing.org/");

```
