# Processing website

- Forum Link in the Menu (Processing Foundation)

# P5JS website

- No Forum link, no Discord link in the Community link menu
- In the Footer a link to the Forum and a link to P5JS Discord (with only a tiny part to Processing-Java) (is there a lot of people who read the footers ?)

(no opinion just the facts)

Shouldn’t the links to the Forum and P5js Discord be at the front of the P5js website Community page?

For my part, I really like Processing and I really like P5js (by the way, I use both) !

My humble opinion is that they are complementary.

P.S. … just in the idea of increasing the number of participants and the number of exchanges between them…

By the way, I really like the software choice for this forum !

🙂

Hello @EricRogerGarcia ,

Providing some links to official websites (not sure what official page titles are for each so kept it simple) for visitors to topic:

- [Processing Foundation](https://processingfoundation.org/)
- [p5.js](https://p5js.org/)
- [Welcome to Processing! - Processing.org](https://processing.org/)

_Official_ _ **Processing Foundation** _ sites:

- [P5.js Discord Server](https://discord.com/invite/SHQ8dH25r9)
- [Processing Community Forum](https://discourse.processing.org/)

_Unofficial_ _ **Processing Discord** _ site:

- [Discord Server](https://discord.com/) \< I have seen invites to _ **Creative Coders** _ targeted at the _ **Processing** _ community.
I do not post _ **Discord** _ invites I find on the Internet without permission.

There are _ **6** _ official links in the _ **social** _ section at the bottom of the _**[P5.js](https://p5js.org/)**_ website pages:

- Forum (links to Processing Community Forum)
- Discord (links to official P5.js Discord)
- Along with these at the bottom of most of the pages with different colors:

I do!

All of the 6 social links can be found at the bottom of each page.
If they are in the _ **Community** _ page it should be in addition to those.
See below…

The more people we can reach the better!

>
> \[Footer\] Visually differentiate external social links from internal l…inks
>
> \### Description
>
> In the footer of \[p5js.org\](https://p5js.org), the "Resources", "Information", and "Socials" sections all present links with the same appearance. However, the "Socials" section includes links to external platforms like GitHub, Instagram, and Discord.
>
> Currently, these external links are not visually distinguished from internal ones, which may confuse users — especially those relying on screen readers or keyboard navigation.
>
> This creates an accessibility concern where users are unable to anticipate whether clicking a link will navigate away from the site or not.
>
>
> \### Steps to Reproduce
>
> 1. Visit \[https://p5js.org\](https://p5js.org)
> 2. Scroll to the footer
> 3. Compare the "Resources" and "Socials" sections
> 4. Hover or tab through the links (e.g., “GitHub” in Socials vs “Reference” in Resources)
> 5. Observe that all links look identical, despite some being external
>
> Element location: \`.footer .footer-socials a\`
> Interaction method: Pointer hover and keyboard focus
>
>
> \### Actual Behavior
>
> All links appear visually identical. External links in the "Socials" section do not provide any indication that they will open external platforms. There’s no icon, hover text, or tooltip indicating that behavior.
>
>
> \### Expected Behavior
>
> Users should be able to identify external links via:
> \- A visual indicator (e.g., external link icon ↗)
> \- A tooltip like “Opens in new tab”
> \- An \`aria-label\` for screen readers indicating that it’s an external link
