Hello @quicksinger21,

This may help:

> **[Getting Started](https://processing.org/tutorials/gettingstarted/)**
>
> Welcome to Processing! This introduction covers the basics of writing Processing code.

If not try this at a command prompt for Windows:

 ![image](https://canada1.discourse-cdn.com/flex036/uploads/processingfoundation1/original/3X/2/f/2f55e804442a20e17fee6e2c496b226fdfed35a2.png)

I do not use the _installer_ so used _notepad_ in example above.
I download the portable version of Processing and install in a custom location.

Try:

`C:\Users\GLV>where processing` \< Your user directory will be different.

`:)`

Hi @quicksinger21,

Since you mentioned an .exe, I am assuming you’re on Windows, is that right?

Running the .msi installer should add Processing to your Start Menu.

Try opening the Start menu and typing “Processing” to see if it appears there.
