# Advice on what graphic card to buy

Hello everybody,

I started creating an audiovisual work, playing my Processing and SuperCollider simultaneously. However, I see some limitations due to my integrated graphic card, and I was considering whether buying an external card.

Mostly, I thought: it may not make sense to change an entire computer for just a graphic card, so it may be worth spend some money for something that I can then use with other computers in the future. Thing is:

- does it make sense, is it worth spending about 200 euros for a graphic card, or should I go for more?

With this card, my plan is to both do real-time audiovisual with Processing, and also it should help me smoothly running video editors.

If you would argue that an external graphic card could be a great benefit, would you be able to suggest me some good ones in a range from 200 and 600 euros, so that I can consider whether it makes sense to stay on a budget or to aim for a more expensive one?
